PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. As a radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913-1984) asked the personalities he interviewed to sign an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews.
INFORMATION: André Verdet was a French poet, painter and Resistance fighter. Deported to Auschwitz during the Second World War, he was subsequently close to many major artists, including Picasso, Chagall, Matisse and Léger. His poetic and pictorial work, marked by freedom and humanism, occupies a singular place in French culture of the XXᵉ century.
Very good condition, leaf edges slightly damaged and yellowed.
