Salvador DALI (1904-1989) Scarab Costumes: Mimetic Costume for the 2000 New Yorker cover, 1971 Original color lithograph (atelier Desjobert) Signed in the plate Justified "offert par Scabal" in the plate (Maison Scabal is a fashion label for made-to-measure suits) On Japon paper 65 x 50 cm REFERENCES :Catalogue raisonné Field #71-7 G INFORMATION: This lithograph is part of the "Scarab Costumes" series created by the artist for the launch of Maison Scabal's new Scarab Paris collection in 1971. A very rare edition with an announced print run of 75 copies, plus a few proofs, unnumbered. It seems that the edition was not completely realized and that only a few proofs were printed for collaborators. Very good condition, minor handling marks-very rare and sought-after sheet.
