Victor LEVASSEUR (1800-1870) Carte ancienne de la Seine, 1846 Original engraving enhanced with watercolor Engraved by Laguillermie in Paris after the map drawn by Levasseur On heavy paper, approx. 35 x 52 cm INFORMATION: Superb period engraving printed in 1846 by the Combette workshop in Paris. The illustrations of the places and traditions of the département around the map were created by the painter Raymond Bonheur, father of the painter and sculptor Rosa Bonheur. Note that the arrondissement boundaries have been enhanced in color by hand (in the publisher's workshops) to highlight the administrative boundaries of the threearrondissements, twenty-four cantons and the communes resulting from the 1846 census.
