Combloux L'Hotel PLM & le Mont Blanc Combloux L'Hotel PLM & le Mont Blanc In 1912, Combloux's unrivalled vantage point overlooking the Alps and Mont Blanc led to it being chosen by a wealthy Swiss owner to build the Grand Hôtel du Mont-Blanc, under the pencil of architect Fleury Raillon. - In 1914, this hotel was to welcome the first skiers. From the restaurant terrace, the view of the enormous massif, from the dome and the Col du Miage to the Aiguille de Bionnassay, via the summit of Mont-Blanc, is a sublime spectacle, the ideal vantage point from which to contemplate this prodigious mass. - In 1923, it was acquired by the Compagnie P.L.M. and renamed Hôtel du PLM. - In 1924, the hotel underwent remarkable expansion, increasing its capacity from 50 to 200 rooms. Some 60 bathrooms were added, as well as large reception rooms and terraces with bellied column balustrades, typical of Belle Époque architecture. This luxury hotel, set in a 15-hectare park with three tennis courts, a 6-hole golf course and a skating rink, attracted a wealthy clientele.
