FIX MASSEAU PIERRE
Ferrari - Mas du Clos Circuit de Creuse Poster signed in pencil / Signed by Pierre Fix Masseau It was about a dozen kilometers from Aubusson, at the foot of the family castle in Saint-Avit-de-Tardes, that Pierre Bardinon built the Mas du Clos racetrack from scratch in 1963. This leather goods and leather industry executive (http://www.chapal.fr/ ) had been passionate about motorsports since he was a young man, and in ’63 he took the plunge by opening this magnificent “old-school” circuit, which measured 3.071 km in its final version dating from 1967. In 1963, the circuit measured approximately 400 meters, and with the creation of ASA Mas du Clos in 1965, it received certification for all training sessions and closed-door competitions. 1967 saw the completion of the current circuit, and the news spread very quickly throughout the automotive and sports worlds. The first major racing team to come and race in the Creuse region was Matra, followed by Alpine, Ligier, and tire manufacturer Dunlop; and in the early 1970s, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Peugeot, and Mercedes-Benz (both manufacturers and official clubs) came to race at the “French Brands Hatch.” The circuit opened its doors to major clubs in 1971 with a legendary event, as the prestigious official Bugatti, Bentley, and Ferrari clubs gathered to burn rubber on the asphalt at Mas du Clos. For more than three decades, the circuit hosted manufacturers, clubs (both auto and motorcycle), but above all enthusiasts, who could easily meet the owner to explore his Ferrari collection (still about thirty cars today), his collection of scale models, his library, or simply talk about their passion for cars. / It
