INFORMATION: Created in 1905, this etching was printed in a few proofs. No edition was made. The publisher Ambroise Vollard had the copper scratched out by Paul Fort. A few proofs, including this copy, were then made from the scratched copper.
The Baer catalog raisonné states: "The horse, the woman's head, the harlequin with the skull, the child's head, the cat, the nude and the seaside, as well as the inscription 'Planches de desins (sic) / de Max Jacob et / Picasso' are by Picasso. (...) the other elements are engraved by Max Jacob".
Excellent condition - Very rare
