PAVEL BUHRE " Paul Buhré dit Bure " Saint Petersburg, n°59960, circa 1900. Rare and large soapy watch in 14k rose gold, round case decorated with the imperial eagle of the Romanovs finely chased, nielloed and enamelled on a guilloché background. Large fluted crown, oval bélière. White enamelled dial, black-painted Roman, Arabic and railway numerals, small second hand at 6 o'clock, rose gold hands. 12'' mechanical movement ½ côtes de Genève, anchor escapement. Preserved in its original red morocco case applied to the centre of the gilt bronze Imperial Eagle, red velvet and white silk interior bearing in Cyrillic characters "PAVEL Buhré and addresses of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, N° 59960". Diameter: 53 mm Gross weight: 128 gr Very good condition, very small mark under the hinge and wear of the guillochage of the case back. This watch was offered by Tsar Nicolas II on December 02, 1902 to the Commander of the frigate "Le Vassili" Louis DEMARNE then Officer of the French Navy during his stopover in Saint Petersburg.
