Pierre GUARICHE
Pierre GUARICHE (1926-1995) Rare lamp staple known as G5 Metal, brass H:56cm L:50 cm. Pierre Disderot, circa 1952 Reference : - Delphine Jacob Lionel Blaisse Aurélien Jeauneau, Pierre Guariche, Norma 2020, p. 51. Estimate: €5,000 / €6,000 NOTES: A French designer of the 20th century, Pierre Guariche completed his training at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, which he completed with an internship with Marcel Gascoin. Creator of iconic pieces of French design, such as the "Tonneau" chair designed in 1954 and constantly reissued, Guariche also tried his hand at the art of lighting in the 1950s. He conceived a complete range of lamps, each designed to be adapted to a particular space, according to the needs in luminosity and the typology of the room. The "G5" lamp presented here is characteristic of this research: intended to be fixed to a workspace, it ensures both functionalism and aestheticism for its user. Rare on the market, it is also part of the first editions of Guariche lighting.
