RUTH FRANCKEN (1924-2006) Rare sculptural seat called "Man". Chromed steel, fiberglass injected with polyurethane foam. H. 99 cm, W. 56 cm, D. 72 cm. Signed prototype. Galerie Xiane et Eric Germain,1971. Provenance: - Former employee of the Mérat company, France. Note: Mérat was a French company specialized in fiberglass. It collaborated with Knoll, notably for Eero Saarinen's armchairs and Marc Held's chairs. For the Germain gallery, she made only 11 copies of this chair, 10 in black and 1 in white. Condition: Excellent. The chair was restored in 2018 by a craftsman from the Mérat company.
